The Miss Apple Blossom Scholarship Pageant will headline Thursday's opening events at the 38th Annual Nappanee Apple Festival on September 19. The pageant will be staged at the Martin's Super Market Entertainment Tent at the Depot Plaza.
The pageant is open to single women between the ages of 16–21 (as of September 1, 2013) and living within Elkhart County or the Wa-Nee School District. Entrants must be enrolled in high school, a high school graduate or enrolled in college or advanced education by September 1st. All entrants agree to enlist a business sponsor.
The Miss Apple Blossom Queen will receive $1,000.00. First and second runner-ups will receive $750.00 and $500.00 respectively. The newly crowned queen will participate at events throughout the four-day weekend as well as represent Nappanee at the Indiana State Festivals Association Scholarship Pageant in Indianapolis in November, and in area parades during her reign.
